Wildfires

Our hearts go out to those who have felt the impact of the wildfires raging in the interior. Two of our parishioners saw the start of the Ashcroft fire...it didn't look like much and was close to the river where it seemed it would be easy to put out. By the time they had lunch, the fire had blown up into a monster, cutting off their planned route home. Fortunately, they were able to get out the long way round through Merritt.  From the Similkameen, Ken reports that the smoke from the Princeton fires is now filling the valley. He sends a photo from his back garden of the smoke above Nickelplate Mountain.
