Bell Ringing

Following the simple supper and service of Maundy Thursday in the parish hall, the congregation headed over to the church for the solemn stripping of the altar. At seven o'clock, people took turns in ringing the bell. An invitation had been issued by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York for each church in the Anglican Communion to toll their bells for 7 minutes to signify solidarity with the parishioners of Notre Dame and we were happy to take part in this.
